Privacy PolicyWhy should a mere fan page have a privacy policy when it doesn't even collect personal information? Simply put: COPPA. Now on to the privacy policy. The Actual BeginningThank you for visiting the EWJ Database and reviewing my privacy policy. The EWJ Database will now be referred to as the "EWJDB". I, the webmaster, will now be referred to as "I." You, the viewer will now be referred to as "you." The EWJDB does not collect personal data on you unless you send an e-mail that contains personal information. Detailed information about this appears below. Non-Personally Identifiable Information Collected and Stored AutomaticallyHosttoday.co.uk, which will now be referred to as the "server," may store information such as your IP Address (the unique address that refers to your computer while online), Internet domain (i.e. onlineprovider.com), the browser used to view the EWJDB, the date and time visited, the pages you visit, and the referring site, if applicable. The information does not identify you personally. This practice is not likely to take place. Sending the EWJDB Personal InformationIf you choose to send personal information, such as an e-mail through any number of links around the EWJDB, the EWJDB uses the information to contact you and answer and/or respond to any questions, if applicable. The EWJDB does not create profiles with the information provided unless you ask the EWJDB to (in cases of extended communications, etc.). Your personally identifiable information WILL NOT be sold or distributed to third-parties. I hate when that happens and I'm sure you do too. Links to Other SitesWhen you click a link which takes you out of the EWJDB, you are subject to the privacy policy of that site, if applicable. You are only subject the the EWJDB's privacy policy while you are browsing the EWJDB site. ChildrenDue to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and since the EWJDB is based in the United States, I cannot accept e-mail from children younger than 13. There is no easy way to confirm the age of a child or whether someone is legitimately one's parents. If the age is not provided, it is assumed that the person sending the mail is old enough to do so without parental consent. The EWJDB and I are not responsible for a child lying about their age. The responsibility lies in the child and/or the parent. These rules apply to posting on the EWJDB Site Forum, or the EWJ Board o' Stuff. Anyone under the age specified by COPPA should get parental permission first. CookiesCookies are small files stored on your computer to check where you have been and what you have seen. The EWJDB does not make use of this feature. Platform for Privacy Preferences (P3P) InitiativeTo allow the browsing process to be easier and safer, the EWJDB has instituted a P3P policy and is compliant with the standards set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) in the 15 December 2000 P3P 1.0 working draft of the P3P specification . |
